Going to the VMCA Annual meeting was a very unique and fun experience. The attendees consisted of some scientists, but mostly consisted of farmers learning about the mosquito control options and the workers that would implement them. It was my first time presenting my research to an audience of the public.
I did my best beforehand to make the material as relatable and interesting as possible (I think it's super interesting). I worked to keep the presentation conversational too. It was something new for me and interesting to see the variation in audience response compared to what I had previously gotten from other scientists.
Overall, I had some good questions from the audience. I like to think this is something they'll remember and share with others.
